Our precious Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma passed away peacefully with her family close by on Saturday, June 13, 2009, in La Jolla where she resided for the past 47 years.Marian was born on July 8, 1913, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Jess and Mina Worley.
Marian worked many years at San Diego State and Scripps Institute of Oceanography where she retired in 1970. After retirement, she enjoyed her volunteer work at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla and the Door of Hope in San Diego. She cherished her family, friends and her days at the family home in La Mission, Baja California.Marian was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth D. Owens; son, Douglas Gregg; and her sister, Shirley Anderson. She is survived by her son James of La Jolla; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and forever be in our hearts.Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park on Friday, July 17, at 11:00 am.
