Sent to a friend El Campo Santo cemetery, which was built in 1849. Home to 477 bodies, the cemetery is said to host at least two ghosts, including that of Yankee Jim Robinson, who was hung at the nearby Whaley House and is said to haunt both sites. Visitors have noted chills, visions of shimmering figures and misfortunes to passing cars - no wonder, as several of the graves were paved over to make room for a road.Rating:1.00

- The cemetery....the way it was described to me, when it became necessary to make the street wider and easier to travel, the cemetery officials contacted the family members of the deceased and those that could afford to move the bodies, did......those that couldn't or the family members the officials didn't get a response from, were just paved over.....however, each grave was marked with a gold coin that says something to the equilvilant of "deceased" or "grave". These gold coins can be found even in the middle of the street. The street is just a 2 laner.
- It is a very small cemetery with restaurants.bars located just yards away on the other side of the street. Kind of takes away the feel of it.
